The Abei Puffer has a compact, rounded body covered with tiny spines that become prominent when the fish inflates. Its coloration includes a base of light yellow or beige adorned with irregular dark brown or black spots and patches, creating a camouflaged look that helps it blend into its environment. Abei Puffers are carnivorous and require a diet rich in hard-shelled foods to keep their beak-like teeth from overgrowing. Snails, crustaceans, and other invertebrates are ideal. Supplement with high-quality frozen foods like bloodworms or krill for variety. Feed them sparingly, as they can easily overeat.
