The Albino Tiger Shark is an incredibly rare and striking variation of the more common Tiger Shark, known for its pale, almost white body with subtle light yellow or gold markings. This shark, like its regular counterpart, is a large, aggressive predator native to tropical and subtropical coastal waters around the world. While the Albino Tiger Shark shares the same general care needs as the standard Tiger Shark, its rarity and delicate appearance make it a special species for experienced aquarium keepers.

This shark is carnivorous and requires a diet rich in protein. In the wild, Tiger Sharks feed on a wide range of prey, including fish, squid, crustaceans, and even larger mammals. In captivity, they thrive on a diet of high-quality fish fillets, squid, and other meaty foods, such as live or frozen prey. Providing a varied, high-protein diet is critical for their health, ensuring they receive all necessary nutrients for growth and long-term survival.

Due to its large size, the Albino Tiger Shark requires an extraordinarily large tank. A minimum tank size of 500 gallons (1892 liters) is essential, though larger tanks are highly recommended for these large predators. They require plenty of swimming space to accommodate their size and active nature. Additionally, they need tanks with strong filtration systems to maintain water quality, as these sharks produce a significant amount of waste.

The Albino Tiger Shark thrives in a specific range of water parameters. The water should have a pH of 6.5 to 7.5, and a specific gravity of 1.020 to 1.025. Water hardness should be kept between 8-15 dGH, as they are adapted to slightly hard water. The ideal temperature for these sharks is between 75-82°F (24-28°C), with stable conditions necessary to prevent stress and health issues.

These sharks are extremely aggressive and territorial, so they are not suitable for community tanks. They should be housed with other large, similarly aggressive species, but even then, aggression can sometimes occur. Due to their size and temperament, they are best kept in species-only tanks or with larger predatory fish that can handle their nature.

The Albino Tiger Shark can live for 10-15 years, making them a long-term commitment for those who are prepared to meet their complex care needs. With proper tank conditions, diet, and water maintenance, these sharks can thrive and become a true highlight of any aquarium. However, due to their size, aggression, and specific requirements, they are best suited for advanced aquarists with experience in managing large, predatory fish.
