How To Care Reticulate Stingray
The Reticulate Stingray (Himantura uarnak) is a large and powerful species known for its distinctive net-like (reticulated) pattern covering the body. Found in coastal marine and brackish waters of the Indo-Pacific region, it is not a true freshwater species like river stingrays.
This species requires an extremely large aquarium or public aquarium setup with marine or brackish water conditions. Maintain stable salinity (SG 1.020–1.025), temperature between 24°C to 28°C, and high water quality with strong filtration systems.
They are carnivorous and feed on crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish. A varied, protein-rich diet is essential for proper growth and health.
Reticulate Stingrays are generally calm but can be dangerous due to their venomous tail spine. They are powerful swimmers and require large open spaces.
